Bauer Coupling - A Quick and Straightforward Solution to Joining Long Lengths of Hose Together!
Posted by Admin | 05 May
Bauer couplings provide a quick and straightforward solution to joining many lengths of hose together. They are primarily used in the agricultural, construction and water processing industries to convey a wide range of fluids including; chemicals, sewage, slurry and water.
They are a ball and socket connection that utilizes a locking lever to connect the male hose tail with the ball to the female hose tail's socket. This system was originally invented in 1947 in Austria by Rudolf Bauer as a way to quickly couple water transfer hose and pipe together.
The unique nature of this design allows the fitting to be coupled in an offset manner, up to 20deg-30deg which gives the user more flexibility when routing their hoses and pipes around objects or rough terrain. This is much easier to achieve than using cam and groove or bolted flange connections which require perfect alignment.
It is also a cost-effective way to connect and disconnect your hoses, making them an essential part of any pumping installation. These fittings are available in a variety of sizes and are able to handle full vacuum as well as higher pressures than standard camlock couplings.
Bauer connections are also more secure than flanged connectors, providing a tight seal for pumping stations and treatment works - ideal for applications that involve sewer bypass, high head pumps or other applications that require added reliability and security. However, this is not a one-size-fits-all solution and it is important to choose the right fit for your application to ensure maximum performance.
