Plum coupling characteristics: Elastomers are generally composed of engineering plastics or rubber. The life of the coupling is also the life of the elastomer. Since the elastomer is under compression, it is not easily stretched. Generally, the life of the elastomer is 10 years. Since the elastomer has the function of buffering and damping, it is used more in the occasion of strong vibration. The performance limit temperature of the elastomer determines the operating temperature of the coupling, generally -35 to +80 degrees.
Manufacturing process of plum blossom coupling: The plum blossom coupling is processed by machining methods such as turning, milling, and broaching, and then undergoes overall heat treatment. In order to ensure sufficient mechanical strength, there is also a claw disc on the market that is a casting, which can be produced in large quantities and eliminates processing losses. So in terms of price, it is much lower than machining. But the performance of castings is not very good. It is best not to use it in some important occasions. In addition, the claws of the casting are prone to beating (the claws fall off) under high-speed or high-load conditions.

Plum blossom coupling fixed type: the set screw fixed plum blossom coupling is also called claw coupling, which is composed of two metal claw discs and an elastic body. The two metal claw discs are generally 45-gauge steel, but aluminum alloy or stainless steel materials are also used in the case of sensitive loads. The quincunx-shaped elastic coupling utilizes quincunx-shaped elastic elements to be placed between the two half-coupling claws to realize the connection of the two half-couplings. It has the characteristics of compensating for the relative displacement of the two shafts, damping, buffering, small radial size, simple structure, no lubrication, high bearing capacity, and convenient maintenance.
